Arkadag's Sustainable Drive: A Green Revolution in Turkmenistan

Under President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's visionary leadership, Turkmenistan marked a significant milestone on June 29 with the inauguration of the new city of Arkadag. Embracing sustainability and eco-friendly practices, the city introduced an impressive fleet of electric vehicles, ushering in a new era of clean and efficient transportation.

The Electric Fleet

Arkadag boasts a fleet comprising 10 state-of-the-art JAC J7 electric cars and 10 Yutong electric buses, generously provided by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. These vehicles, operating solely on electric power, are a testament to the commitment to reducing harmful emissions and fostering a greener environment.

Nazar Atayev, the head of the operation department at the Arkadag bus station, shared insights into the technical characteristics of electric vehicles. The JAC J7 electric cars and Yutong electric buses showcase cutting-edge technology, emphasizing sustainability without compromising performance.

To support the electric fleet, Arkadag has implemented an advanced charging infrastructure. The city has five filling stations, each capable of charging two electric vehicles simultaneously. The charging process is remarkably efficient, with electric cars requiring a mere 48 minutes for a full charge, while electric buses take 90 minutes.

Each filling station in Arkadag is pivotal in sustaining the electric transport system. With the capacity to charge two vehicles concurrently, these stations ensure a seamless and swift charging experience, contributing to the overall efficiency of the electric fleet.

One of the key advantages of the electric vehicles in Arkadag is their impressive range. A fully charged electric car can cover a distance of 400 kilometers, offering a convenient and extensive travel radius. Similarly, electric buses provide a sustainable solution for public transportation needs with a range of 320-350 kilometers per charge.
